Wow! The XP Deus Found Something My AT Pro Missed Over The Last 2 Years!

Liberty Large Cent 1854
It was really nice this past Sunday 2/28/16 and I wanted to take out the XP Deus for its 2nd test drive. I spent the night before skimming through Andy Sabisch's book "The Deus Handbook" and jotted down some programs I wanted to try for a local farm field just a couple miles from my house. On this particular farm, I have found colonial buttons, Liberty Cents, King George coins, musket balls etc. The place has seen a lot of activity over the years so it was a great place to give the XP Deus another drive around the block.

Below you will find the settings I was using that I tweaked a little from the book and by the way, if you have the XP Deus and you don't have his book you need to get it. You can launch into Amazon from the link I provided on the right hand side of this page and pick it up. Its money well spent trust me! Often times, I'll put links to Amazon where you can purchase many of the items I blog about. These are not items I sell through Amazon. They are just links to the vendors who do and I try to list links to sellers with high customer satisfaction. The goal is to save you guys some time finding these items that I use on a regular basis.

Anyway, back to my settings for the XP Deus...here are the settings I was using the other day. This is a program I added using the advanced features of the XP Deus. You can save up to 8 of your own programs and name them anything you want. Andy's book gives you many of these from experienced users who have found certain settings that have worked for them in various conditions. I started out with his "Hot Relic" program but changed it just a little bit.

DISC 8
Expert 4 Tones
12kHz 1st Break 8 & 200hz
2nd Break 35 & 455HZ
3rd Break 97 & 725 HZ

Tx Power 3
Frequency 8 Khz

G.B Tracking

While I was hunting the field, I found the usual farm junk but it didn't take long to unearth the things I expected to find. Farm relics such as modern bullets, horse shoes, a couple of musket balls etc.

Farm junk probably a plow piece
After a couple of hours, I decided to head to a property that was really hunted out by me. I spent the last 2 years hunting this place HARD. I was no longer getting any good targets to dig with my AT Pro. So I used this same relic program from above and within 5 minutes of using the Deus, I found this amazing coin (on the left) that was down about 9" deep. This coin was found near a tree that I've hunted over numerous times with the AT Pro but never heard it. Was it a fluke or just luck? Probably a little of both but it was down really deep and I don't know if the AT Pro would have heard the signal but the XP Deus screamed at me so I dug it. Something else that needs to be mentioned which could have played a factor was the fact that we recently had a lot of snow (over 28 inches) and it all melted, froze, and melted again. The coin could have easily shifted around and became detectable. I didn't have my AT Pro to test this theory. Needless to say I did find it with XP Deus so we'll just leave it at that. :-)

Musket ball probably from a pistol
Lets be fair, I have yet to master this new detector but so far I don't think it will take too long to figure it out. As you can see, I'm already finding the same kind of targets I found with the AT Pro. However, with this XP Deus, I feel like I have more control over the machine. Fortunately, the default programs that come preset in the XP Deus will get you hunting in no time. Its easy to use but to unlock its real power and features you will have to learn how to use the Deus in many different conditions. Overall, I'm beginning to love the machine and its as light as a feather. A dream to swing around for most of the day. I'm sure I'll be posting more about the Deus and the settings I'm using in the near future.

Thanks for giving this a look and we'll see you at the next hole and I'll probably have the XP Deus with me. If you want a free XP Deus hat go here and register for a test drive with the Deus.
